As Packaging Developer at HJ Heinz Company, you are responsible for leading complex, multidisciplinary packaging development projects in the framework of NPD and Value engineering, location Nijmegen (The Netherlands).

The Heinz Innovation Centre (HIC) in Nijmegen is  the European Centre of Excellence for ketchup, condiments and sauces (KC&S). It’s the ambition to further expand the HIC, due to the inability to grow on the current location, the HIC will be relocated in the Nijmegen region. Other Centres of Excellence are located in Italy (Milan) and in the USA (Pittsburgh). To extend the excellence of the HIC we are currently searching for a driven Packaging Developer.

Position

• Responsible for leading complex, multidisciplinary packaging development projects in the framework of NPD and Value engineering
• Translating concepts into clear R&D briefings in order to deliver packaging solutions for key customers
• Implementing new and improved packaging into the production plants in co-operations with the Plant Technologist
• Identifying and selling value engineering opportunities to line management
• Presenting insights of the operational impact during feasibility check of marketing proposals
• Keep up with technological packing and material developments through internal and external knowledge partners
• Working intensively with suppliers, Purchasing, Marketing, R&D and Operations colleagues, in order to develop innovative packaging solutions
• Reporting to the Packaging Development Manager

Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Packaging or equivalent
• Several years experience in Packaging Development in a FMCG/industrial environment
• Able to stimulate the NPD process by a proactive attitude
• Utilize own network in packaging related industry
• Strong project management skills and able to meet deadlines in multidisciplinary teams
• Good command of English and Dutch, both written and verbal
• Personal skills: Energetic, self-starter, solution oriented, high perseverance,  hands-on, ambitious, stimulating others and willingness to learn
