Product Developers & Technologists £40k-£70k equivalentBased AustraliaUK Retail Product Developers & Technologists to work in Australia: Our client, one of Australia’s leading food retailers, is going through an immense and progressive change management programme. This has resulted in the need for UK experienced Product Developers and Food Technologists to help strengthen various category teams. This is a great opportunity to really influence a business and play a key role in re-shaping the future of food retailing in Australia.Product Developers: You will help plan, develop and deliver the retailer’s own brand product ranges. This includes high level product innovation whilst maintaining quality and cost parameters. You will need to be able to demonstrate NPD and project management skills, launching products in any of the following categories: chilled convenience foods, frozen foods, bakery, meat or fresh produce. This will embrace end-to-end product and packaging delivery on a right first time basis.Your experience will ideally have been gained as a Product Developer with one of the UK’s major multiple retailers. If, however, you are from the supply chain, you will need to have worked very closely with a retail category team and be able to demonstrate an excellent appreciation of the retail critical path to bring products to market. Either route, your consumer understanding needs to be first rate to develop meaningful and strategic category product development plans.Product Technologists: You will work across most departments in-house to ensure quality is at the fore of all product development and production plans. Even more critical will be your work with suppliers, not just acting as gatekeeper for product quality, but also coaching and mentoring the supply base to continually raise their own technical standards and approach to production innovation.Your experience will ideally have been gained as a Retail Product Technologist with one of the UK’s major multiples. If, however, you are from the supply chain, you will need to have supplied at least one of the top tier retailers and be able to demonstrate a proactive approach to supplier partnerships.Both roles require individuals with a passion for food, along with outstanding interpersonal skills.
